Run f/w download.

N.B. No responsibiltiy is accepted by the author, this site or myself.
The following will result in any warranty being made void.
N.N.B. When flashing make sure drive tray is empty.
If unsure or new to flashing consider flashing drives in safemode.
Special thanks go to ala42 for all the effort & quick responses given, regarding MCSE.

The following example is an IDE drive.
The process is identical for SATA drives like the 215(D).

Having downloaded the official firmware.

Software Downloads - Pioneer Europe

You may have already done this.
In which case move on to the next stage.

Run f/w, selecting where you want the folder destination to be.

Click on Run button.

Click on Install button.

If you have already updated you will see this window.

If you have not yet updated. The loading of the update can be followed in the DOS window. (See last page for example).

Zeb I just purchased the dvr-115D drive and Im expecting it in today or tomorrow would it be advantageous for me to patch this drive or leave it stock as is for now!

It is entirely down to you.
If you need rpc1 (if using AnyDVD - you don't really).
If going to use the drive as a source (ripping).
The speed read patching may be useful.
If using + SL media & require bitsetting.
DL media is bitset by default.
My advice would be to use as is to start with.
Making sure drive appears to work trouble free.
Then if needed .... experiment.
Remember you can always flash back.

Ok cool will give it a whirl and take it for a few test drives
Then I will think about it!

Great work Zeb's. Some real clear instructions there. I think booktyping for any drive is an excellent asset to obtain.
