Use this to navigate through article.

Simply click on topic in question.

When viewing topics. If felt necessary, Links* are provided.
(These are attached by means of ‘posts’. These can be seen from any page by scrolling down.)

If you want to start at the beginning & read through. The pages go from left to right.

Default Download:

From the homepage first click on Download. Then just click on which version you require.

It can pay to save to your HD 1st. Then install from there.

You can either have a downloads folder or create one just for DVDFab.

Default Install

Once download is complete. Click on the RUN button to start the installation.

With Vista it appears to like everything done twice.

Use the drop down to select the language of your choice. It should select the 'home' language as default, via the PC.

Click the OK button.

This window should then appear, simply click the NEXT button.

With this window, to be able to continue. You must check the "I accept the agreement" followed by the NEXT button. Failure will mean the program will not be installed.

With this window, just check the location for the install is correct. If for some reason you want to install elsewhere. Just use the 'Browse' function. If/when happy with this, click the NEXT button.

With this window you may want to leave the shortcuts enabled (default). I have deselected these. Once you've made your choice. Click NEXT button.

With this option you can give yourself a choice of whether to use VSO software* or Nero**. You can choose each & everytime you use DVDFab, to see what works best for you. I have chosen to install.
* VSO is recommended. In fact if you don't have any burning software installed. Essential.
**Nero has to be installed seperately on your PC/Laptop for this option to be available.

This information window just gives confirmation of the program to be installed. (Note those with sharp eyes for detail that this version is different from that downloaded. This was because the program had been updated. Already there have been further updates. Check before commencing installation). Anyway you can now click NEXT.

Once installation has completed. Restart PC. Just click Finnish. If you want to do some other tasks beforehand. Simply check 'No, I will restart the computer later'. Then click Finnish.

Default Registering:

As mentioned in the email there are two methods.
The first is to copy & paste the key.

1st window. Click on Enter Register Code.

Paste key in clear window area. Then click Register.

Now all that's left is to click OK.

Alternative or second method.
Although I have used Total Commander . Windows Explorer can still be used.(TC is just easy for visual purposes).
Just drag & drop the key (email attachment) into Program files\DVDFab3.

You will then be asked for confirmation of this action. Click OK.

Double click the 'key' (in the Program files\DVDFab3 folder).

Now to complete click OK.

Default Settings - General:

General Window

This 1st section is fairly straight forward.
Note all boxes are checked by default.

Use the drop down to change language.

Click on browse if you want to change 'Output directory'.

Click on browse if you want to change 'Temporary folder'.

Click on ResetDMA button, to check DMA. Then click the Reset DMA in the popup.
Do not use this function just because it's there. Restarting your PC needlessly. May in itself bring problems.

If you have used the Reset DMA, it is likely you were having problems. Maybe just a feeling that something wasn't right. Anyway if you used this option then a Reboot is required. Just click the Yes button.
