Default Intro:

Hi
The Samsung SH-S203B is one of the latest SATA DVDRWs' to hit the high street.
This comes of the back of the previous popular models the SH-S182(IDE) & 183 (SATA).
Using the MediaTek chipset, it is one the fastest/adaptable drives on the maket.
Certainly like Pioneer shows NEC what can be done with their chipset, Samsung appears to be showing Lite-On a trick or two.
N.B. For those who are interested the drives tray is black.

Bitsetting on this drive is temporal. i.e. Is only temporary.
Some s/w programs will do the bitsetting for you automatically.
ImgBurn & Nero being just two examples.

However if using programs that do not provide this feature. All is not lost.
Make sure you have the blank media already inserted into drive.
Then using CD/DVDSpeed.
Run the program > Extras > Bitsetting > Then slecting the right media (i.e. DVD+R-DVD+RW-DVD+DL) make sure the new settin says DVD-ROM > Click on Set button.
You should then get a success displayed. You can now close CD/DVDSpeed.
Unfortunately you will have to repeat this process.

Hi
Manual flashing has been misleading for some.
So here's a quick run through.
1st download & save f/w.

2nd run f/w. If 1st time or had problems with either f/w or drive, use safe mode.
To run straight after download just click on Run button.

or double click the .exe file that you saved.

You should now see this window, just click on folder logo to download file.(N.B. Make sure you have selected the right drive in the dropdown envelope.)

Now this window, click on autobin file. Then open.

The to start process click on middle logo (Start download).

Next you should see this:

& finally this window:

Just click the OK button. PC should auto reboot.

Default HTOA - Hidden Track One Audio:

Many DVDRW's will not read this. The SH-S203B is one of the few SATA that does.
