Default HOW DO I CREATE A RECOVERY DISC???

Hi Guys,
i have just picked up a nice little white sony vaio VGN-CR21S ex display from pcworld for £399 should have been £749 and comes with full warranty etc and really does look brand spanking new..... Anyways the instruction manual says i should create a recovery disc as the laptop does not come with one incase of any catastrophies. The thing is it does not give you instructions on how to do this and i aint no whiz kid so don't have a clue where to start or what to do as my xps came with all these discs... The operating system is vista home premium if this is any help????

Any help and guidence would be greatly appreciated

Hi
The easiest thing to do is get an external drive & clone your current setup.
Other than that you download all the drivers that don't come via MS Vista Home Premium.
When you have these you could make up a rescue disc by slip streaming these drivers in with the Vista disc.
In theory then one disc does all.

I am not sure on that brand but most of them have a builtin program go to start all programs and see if you have one you then launch it and start the process of putting the restore on dvd's or cdr-s use dvd's.

Hi
Good point.
So long since I get a ready made.
Most have a hidden partition with a complete restore.
PCWorld should be able to tell how to access it. FOR FREE!!!

Trigger

Found this on the web. Also be aware that when using the create recovery disc procedure most of these will only create a recovery system with the basics (any windows updates etc that you have added on will not always be included) so Zebs option of an external hdd and cloning onto that with something like acronis will make a recovery much quicker

if you go to start, all programs and vaio recovery tool you can make a set of recovery discs there

"Usually" you put a CD into the optical drive and it will automatically open up a guide to create the restore disc.
If that doesn't work..go HERE and download the "Windows Vista x86 Recovery Disc Torrent". Directions to make a Vista Recovery disc are listed below the download.
In case the download link doesn't work...use THIS this one.

Vista, possibly the safest OS yet...even virus' have incompatibility issues.
