Defrag WinXP without Administrator Privileges ?
Is there a way to Defrag a Windows XP Pro PC without Administrator Privileges ?
I have a PC at work that is running really slow and I would like to defrag the HDD.
The only problem is that built in Degrag Util has been disabled for the normal User.
Is there a Util that I can run to defrag the PC without the need to install it and without the need of Admin Privileges ?

Fire the sup. I don't think so. You could get a program to run at boot up and delete the passes and defrag it then and the boot up disc won't show it was used on the PC either

WindowsKey.iso is a Windows Key Enterprise Edition 7.9 build 2141 bootable CD.
Burn this file using any CD burning tool and use the resulting
bootable CD-ROM to boot and unlock PC with Administrator password lost.

This is only 8.50 MB's in size it seems too, so if you want I can make the ISO and upload it to my server for you to get than delete it off my server?
Or you can just buy it?

Not sure but perhaps JKDefrag can do it... looks to be a single exe, if you can launch it it should run, it appears, in a limited capacity:

Permissions
JkDefrag needs "full control" permissions to all files and disks that it must defragment/optimize. On a default Windows system the "administrator" userid has full permissions to all files and disks. Users can also run JkDefrag, but then it can only defragment/optimize the files and disks for which the user has "full control".
Note: On Vista right-click the JkDefrag program and select "run as administrator". |

Might work if he can install it. But if he can't he will want the program I have as it work in dos before windows boots. My thoughts are if he can't defrag w/o admin privileges I bet he can't install stuff either.
This is correct

1. Start ..Run....Regedit.
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dfrg\BootOpt imizeFunction
3. Select Enable from the list on the right.
4. Right on it and select Modify.
5. Change the value to Y to enable and N to disable.
6. Reboot your computer.
JKDefrag should work also.
Vista, possibly the safest OS yet...even virus' have incompatibility issues.
