You need a service pack or a BIOS change to see the 4GB of RAM. Your MOBO manual should tell you about a BIOS change if it is required.

Hi
As long as it shows correctly in the bios.
AFAIK none of the 32 bit OS'es will recognise more 3.something GB of RAM.
You need 64 bit VISTA

Ok, I am going to build a new system in the near future .. should I go with X64 or X32 ?..
After reading this thread I dunno what to do ..
Is X64 faster ?
Will apps like Office 2003 work with X64 Vista ?
Sorry for the Dumb ass questions .. lol

Actually instead of saying X32 it is called x86 I personally would go with the 64 bit as there is vast improvements there. Office 2003 might not install on the 64 never tried to be honest since I have the 2007 version.
I'm just a spammer!

A 32 bit OS will recognize and use 4 gigs less the required address space for all your hardware components. You will be able to effectively use somewhere between 2.75 and 3.25 gigs. With RAM prices as cheap as they are in the U.S., I suggest to my customers to get the 4 G's.
