It was the original release of version 7 that was not Vista compatible.
If you have a version 7 disc that is not compatible go to the link that alan posted and download the full trial version and install it then use your registration Key from the disc you have to register!!!
Easy as that!

When installing nero it is best to do a custom installation then you the user can decide which parts of the program you want to instal. You also have the option of weather or not you let the programs make associations with certain file types. So in essence you have total control of what and how it installs.
Personally I like the fact that the user has that type of control rather than the program just installing and then making it's own file associations...

Exactly; custom control and unselect all file affiliations, and only select the install to allow maybe smartstart in the taskbar. Makes the install pretty clean and a lot less trouble if you decide to un-install later.

The only file ass. that I change are the ones that ACDSee can use, I leave all the others.
