Hi
Must be one of the rare ocassions when I have been 1st.
(I like to try out s/w of this nature - Nero has been going down hill over the last couple years.)
All of Nero's ToolBox is very poor now.
Info Tool is slow & doesn't always give the correct information.
DiscSpeed is now so geared to the latest generation of Lite-On's.
Now so biased that DiscQuality scanning means even less than it ever did.
BurningRom struggles to cope with the very latest SATA drives too.
Overall still a good package. But the competition should be finding it easier to keep/catch up.
For those interested I have gone back to the previous edition as Nero Express works better or at least appears too.

Zeb did the wind knock you down over there?

I agree the new Nero 8 IMHO is bloatware that does not function correctly anymore and older versions work better ..kind of like Vista..LMAO...

that could be but nero 8 is a 1.2 gig install..compare that to Vista ultitamte 32 and its the same install size roughly 1.2 gigs if removed with Vlite for just the ultimate install...too much crap in one program = trouble and I don't see nero getting it fixed either LOL

Angry Nero 8 plus HD

I purchased and installed nero 8.XX and purchased the HD license. It seemed to work but any DVD I burned would not be recognized by and of my dvd players - 2 tosh HD DVD and 1 Oppo upconverting. I was not trying to burn HD DVD just backing up standard DVD movies. I tried to uninstall and got caught in a catch 22 loop of a corrupted or missing file. I had to start over with a new install of XP and all. Beware of this SW.

all you had to do since the uninstall in control panel doesnt work very well with NERO is to go into regedit and type in EXACTLY the name of the software is, say NERO ESSENTIALS etc. I have full blown 8.x with all the 'plugins' it seems to take FOREVER to get rolling even on POWERFUL machines!!!

then just delete those 'keys' with exactly that text

You do NOT need to delete EVERY reference to NERO. That would take forever and is un necessary!

GOOD Luck

kc
