kt ive just put lord of the rings in and selected 1080 wmv the time it was going to take was 19hours for the conversion and for 720 it was around 16 hours , imm still unsure if it upscales but i have made two 30 minute samples in both 720 and 1080 im going to play them back on the projector and see if there is any difference
if it does upscale this will be one hell of a software

the screen resolution does change i had to use the zoom feature when viewing the 1080 wmv sample. the 720 needed no adjustment as for the quality i would say there was no change however i was converting directly from the dvd drive maybe it would be better to dump the movie on the hard drive first to improve quality aswell as giving a longer life span to my dvdr drive ??

thanks for the info ....
I dont think you will get a better quality even if you convert from your HDD instead of directly from the Drive but I think you are correct with the lifespan of the drive. 19 Hours is a long time for your drive to be wizzing around while the movie is converting.

it might be quicker .. but I dont think so. the program will be CPU power related.
I noticed while doing a conversion on my Laptop the Intel Duo core is only using 1 Core. The Other core is sitting doing nothing. it would be nice if they could get the program to share the resources between cores ...
