Default VOB to ???

Just bought MYDVD8 by Roxio as an upgrade ( I thought ) to MYDVD6.
Unlike 6 it does not read VOB, rendering it useless to edit home movies that are all VOB.
Converted to MPEG, edited, copied, and the quality is very pixelated and poor.
To use mydvd8 I will have to convert VOB to any one of a number of formats, just trying to find the best one.
Next try is Vob to AVI i guess.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Which formats does MYDVD8 support?
Maybe you can try to rename your .VOB file to .mpg first.

Appreciate the post Sam !!! It made me go back and look at the list of supported files. Sure enough vob and ifo were there. No clue how I missed them.
Just learning the program and roxio support hasn't responded yet.
Problem was the program wasn't reading my disc to transcode for editing and after initially checking, and not seeing vob listed (duh ) i assumed i needed a different format.
Have found a way to get it to read the disc , so I'm off square 1 now and back to learning how to use the program.
The Roxio forum had a few threads about this with no solutions other than the one you mentioned. If I get this worked out, I'll have to go back and post. Thanks for your time and response !!!!

Do you mean you imported VOB files from your DVD directly? Maybe you need first copy them to your hard drive and then import them to MYDVD8, I guess.
