But the worst thing about this was that it took 10 mins to convert a 1 min Media Center capture.

1Click DivxToDVD converted an 'entire' 7 gb movie capture from mpeg2 to DVD format in only 10 mins or so, and the quality loss was almost undetectable.

So it might be best to capture your TV movies using another capture program than media center. But if slyles wants to stick with Media center and capture the dvr-ms format, then I would say that Convertxtodvd might be a better option because of the time Digital Media Converter took.

Thanks for the feedback mikey; I was just courious, hope your input helps slyles

i have read that the problem converting the dvr-ms files is as you say the time it takes , some people convert them to the likes of avi first and then burn them to dvd i guess it depends on the software used ???? there is also dvdxplatinum with the likes of video vault included this may do the conversion too but im not quite sure as i only tested the trial but remember these cost $$$$ ...

personally i use Convertxtodvd

Thats what Digital Media Converter stated when I started the conversion, however Convertxtodvd did not take that long but it lost some quality which was noticeable.

I did convert to AVI files with DMC.

If I had to chose from those two to convert dvr-ms files, I would have to go with Convertxtodvd because it was 10X faster and produced the same output in terms of quality as Digital Media Converter.
