Default Cassette to CD

Has anybody ever converted their old casettes to CDs. I wonder how this can be done. I mean hooking uyp the cassette player to the computer and then recording the music onto CD. I wonder if there is a program that does this. Any input?

Yep, Alan I did this a few years back, hooked up a cheap CD player to the sound card, used a little software program that cost me 7.00 which automatically converted the tape into tracks in MP3 formatt. Only drawback was it took real time to do it. I can look through some old backup cds and find the program if you are interested.

Roxio and Nero have this feature built in also.

I still have the 12.00 CD player in the closet I think, if you would like to bid on it, lol

It would probably be faster to get hold of Limewire Pro and download all the music contained on your cassette tapes from the internet... probably get better quality as well. Since you already bought the cassette I wouldn't have any feelings of guilt about downloading the tracks...its just a timesaver.

Don't even need the Pro version, the free version will do just as well.

In the end, when its all said and done,,, will any of this really matter?

Thanks for all the input, I have a bunch of "Oldies but Goodies" cassettes with all the old street corner "Accapella" music on them, very hard to find on Limewire. Try and find " The Chantells" or "Harvey and the Moonglows" on Limewire.

They'll be there... maybe not all their songs, but you can bet on finding many. Who would have thought I'd find Fats Waller on there?
