Hvae you tried Nero? I tried backing up some movies onto Ram discs a while back and was kind of a pain in the butt as some dvd burning software didnt want to burn to them. I also have a Panasonic dvd recorder but I never really used the Ram discs for recording movies on it, I just always used -R media in it.

The resolution on Ram Disks is very good and of course they can be rerecorded over.

I have done it with my RAM Disks that were burned on my Toshiba stand alone recorder. I used TPGEnc DVD Author. Here is a link:

Did you edit out the commercials? Is that why you used Ram disks? I was thinking if they were HBO movies (movies without commercials), you would have copied to DVD-R.

The reason i use Ram disks is when i recorde anything on my Pannasonic DVD Recorder,(DVD-R or Ram Disks) it can only be played back on that machine, and not on any other DVD Player.
And of course Ram Disk can be erased,so there is no waste.

Are you finalizing the DVD-R after you record on it from the Panasonic DVD recorder? All of my DVD-R movies or weekly episodes of programs recorded on my Toshiba from my DishNetwork receiver play on all my other standalone players and they are different brands. But I have to finalize them first. The Toshiba has its own finalizing program. Perhaps you don't want to archive but then you would not want to transfer to DVD-R.

By the way, editing out commercials is one of the benefits of RAM and DMPGEnc DVD Author. You just have to get the hang of Author and after a few tries its easy and very precise. More precise than can be done on a standalone with a hard drive.
