Hi
Welcome on board kdet.
Yes you can still use MagicDVDCopier or any other s/w come to that.
LightScribe has its own s/w just for the labeling aspect.
If you haven't already check out LightScribe

Thanks so much for the answer. I have managed after numerous cd's and 500 dvd's to burn up my dvd burner and was intrigued by LightScribe but didn't want to buy it if it wouldn't work with my magic DVD

Hi
That's OK.
In a LS version of a drive.
There is an additional laser for the labeling.
So when burning data/audio/video. The drive behaves exactly the same as the non LS version.
It is only when you turn the disc over that the additional h/w comes into play.
Of course for this you need the labeling s/w.

Also be aware that L/S media is more expensive. Personally, I'm not at all impressed with the results and it is a pretty time consuming effort.

We all have our opinons in L/S but i love it i use surething as a template and use Cdcovers.cc and Lightscribecovers.com for images i also google images for covers to create custom ones. I do personally recommend L/S im also alittle OCD and like this to look Perfect (or at least neat sharpies dont do it for me any more)

I wrote support at Magic DVD and this is what they said....now I'm really confused and I've already ordered the Lightscribe drive.

I am sorry our program can not support light scribe Movie disc. And we don't have such a plan at present. Maybe you can search such kind of software that can meet your need on internet by Google. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Best regards,

Magic DVD Software (Magic DVD Ripper - rip DVD to hard drive or blank DVD)

So what does that mean? That I can't use Lightscribe to burn movies?

Hi
You can use Magic DVD Copier to back up your discs.
The same way you have always done.
LightScribe is a process to burn labels on the front of the disc.
Two entirely different processes.
See if looking here helps.

Perhaps someone should enlighten Annie the Customer Rep about the software she represents.
