Default Pioneer 112D cross flashed as 112L buffalo 8.06 firmware

I got this drive last week .

I decided to crossflash to the dirve to a 112L with the Buffalo 8.06 firmware using The Dangerous Brothers crossflash Util.

Below are the results...

8 Speed Burn

x8 Burn - Verbatim DVD+R x16 (Yuden T03 )

x8 Benchmark - Verbatim DVD+R x16 (Yuden T03 )

18 Speed Burn

x18 Burn - Verbatim DVD+R x16 (Yuden T03 )

x18 Benchmark - Verbatim DVD+R x16 (Yuden T03 )

As you can see .. the drive is working remarkably well.

I would recommend crossflashing to the 112L to anyone .

This allows auto bittseting of +R Media (both Single Layer & Dual Layer by default) & DVD-RAM read & write support.

The Only Downside it invalidates your warrantee but who cares .. if it breaks just buy another one

P.S. Thanks to Zebadee for helping me out with the Flash

Hi KT,

Some very very nice scans there from the Pioneer 112L. I have mine also flashed to the "L" Buffalo firmware and as you have showed its great in quality. There is also "KOBA" firmware available with a few newer patches but you will have to check out Koba's page over at freaks.

This is a great all-round drive. Performs exceptionally with good solid media -- Verbatim and TY.

Keep up the great burning KT.

Thanks for letting me know about the KOBA firmware ... but for now I think I will be sticking with the 8.06 as this firmware seems to work prefect for good Quality Media

I am very pleased with the results so far.

Cheers

Hi
There would have been very little in it, if anything.
Using stock f/w & fake MCC 004. Infiniti branded.
Burned @ 16x.
This media usually has to be burned @ 8x to be readable.

So apart from making the drive region free what other benefits does this firmware offer?
