Hi
Auto bitsetting for DVD+R/DVD+R DL. DVD+RW.
Better results with a wider variety of media.
Edit: LabelFlash as well.

I've just tried flashing my pioneer 112d with the 112L buffalo firmware but got the following message. 'unable to set kernel mode', what the heck does this mean?

Hi
sn1per_uk, this message only appear when using the Pioneer flasher.
Basically it will look for two files.
One is the actual f/w, the other is known as the kernel.
I am not sure how you got this if following the advice that you should have with the f/w download.
Are you sure you have the right info/files?
Go to
The Dangerous Brothers Present....
Download & run the 1st tdb f/w for your 112D.
Then check your PM's & download files & follow instructions.
All being well, you should have a success.

I've realised why my pioneer wouldn't flash with the buffalo firmware, for some weird reason the program is only picking up my virtual drive in the tab where you select your drive to be flashed. Any idea's as to why?

Hi
I've no idea.
I don't use VD's.
Maybe you need to uninstall before flashing the Pioneer.
Although I've never heard of a need for this.

That's exactly what i've just done and it worked. There maybe some underlying conflict between the 2.

Hi
Just a sort of update on bitsetting.
Those who don't want to go to the extent of crossflashing can now use ala42's MCSE to enable auto bitsetting.
See here:
