on first opening the program the display skin looks bland to say the least but in some way reminds me of
Convertxtodvd although this does the opposite i just hope it is just as good .
as you can see by the userface this program is going or should be a doddle to use as there is no advanced settings to draw your attention and to get you confused as i often do when playing around with programs .
after inserting a dvd in to your source drive , click on the open dvd tab and select the disired drive if you have one or more installed or if using the folder option simply select the correct file from your hard drive.
when inserting a dvd all the chapters are automatically ticked/checked for batch conversion you can easily edit these by clicking and removing the checked sign from your displayed list, unfortuanatly there is no preview window to help you along your way in helping you decide on the final cut. but not a problem if doing full dvd conversions.
note : you can also rename the files by right clicking on the file name and selecting rename from the box displayed.
after completing your edit wish list go to the profile text display on the userface and select one of the following outputs you desire from the list of six provided:
AVI - Audio-Video Interleaved (*.avi)
Xvid Movie (*.avi)
DivX Movie (*.avi)
VideoCD Format (*.mpg)
ASF - Advanced Streaming Format (*.asf)
WMV - Window Media Video (*.wmv)
your destination folder is automatically set up but it is possible to change this if you wish.
when you have finally selected your all your preferences hit the large round arrow symbol to proceed.....
instantly you will notice the time displayed for the encoding as i have been testing various conversion softwares i can say this is definatly the fastest one i have come across as of yet !!! and in some cases being around a hour quicker truly amazing.....
if you are wanting to view these newly converted files via media player etc make sure you have downloaded the latest codecs from here
wmplugins.com - The place to find and share plug-ins, skins, and visualizations to enhance your Windows Media experience. for example the xvid or divx codecs

without a doubt the fastest
ripper convertor i have tried to date and the results are very good , even while surfing the net and multi-tasking it didnt seem to slow this badboy down but saying this i have a dual core pc so for a standard pc it may take a little while longer , but the process is indeed noticably quicker when compared to some other well known dvd to avi rippers that i have also tested on this pc.
the preview window doesnt seem to be an issue anymore as where it lacks this feature it certainly gains it in speed... this said - i would quite gladly sacrifise the preview windows for the x-speed engine any day!!!! as i know how much time these sort of programs can take .
