Sam
Thanks for pointing out that I was using an old version of Ripper for this review, I really like the new added ability that you have added when ripping the "Whole Disc" to be able to compress it to DVD5 at the same time. Nice, really Nice.
Thanks for the offer of discounts to the members, I hope the rest of us with give the programs a trail and take you up on this offer. |

Discount purchase/My first post here
|
|
Hello Members,
Sam I just purchased your product using the discount. All I can say is THANKS!!! I am just now getting my feet wet with this program. I started using ripper and ripped a movie I own to the hard drive. I notice its in video & audio TS folders. I tried surfing it over to my X-Box 360 but sadly it doesn't recognize Video/Audio TS. So I then rentered ripper and made an Mpeg2 file of the movie. That was the trick. No menus just the movie but it worked perfectly over my network to my X-Box 360 & high def Samsung 50" DLP. No need for the disc......AWESOME.
Thanks Again,
Dale

Thanks for your purchase. Do you use windows media center to play the ripped movie? Windows meida center doesn't support playing DVD-Video from hard drive. It's a right choice to convert your DVD to original MPEG2 format. You'll still get the same video and audio as the original DVD. But it can't keep DVD menus because it isn't DVD-Video format. If you have any question, feel free to contact us.

Yes Sam I am using Media Center in Vista to accomplish this. I am wondering Sam if while in Magic Copier and selecting "Full Disc" is there any compression or is it absolutely 1:1? And thanks again for the member discount.
Regards,
Dale

as long as you have selected full disc without compression and have got dual layer media at the ready then you will get a perfect 1:1 (see image) unless the original is shorter than 4.7gb then you will get away using a regular dvdr and the message wont appear . remember DL media is still exspensive if needs be buy it ,personally i would settle for some compression you can ditch the special features and go movie only to dramatically reduce the compression level but again this depends on the movie.

My first attempt at Magic DVD COPIER
|
|
At first glance this proggy looks like a good program, it has a very user friendly GUI and the settings were easy to manipulate. I started with just the simple DVD 9 to DVD 5 back-up using an episodic disc with alot of compression. I used the full disc mode.

It compresses to 4380mbs
|
|
This movie was a very highly compressed DVD, I wonder why it over compressed to 4380mbs, than to the normal 4464 or 4482mbs. Other than that the playback which is the important thing was flawless, it played in my 60" in Video Center with no pixelation or problems. I will now test other options is this program. The media used in my first test was Verbatim /16XMCC-004/ media burned at 12X in 6:01sec. The transcoding took alittle longer but I believe this was because of the high compression.
