Default simples - dvd95 review

I have disabled my decrypter!!!

I opened the program for the first time ,(image 1) the 95copy window box seems very plain and bland , a grey box with a slight bit of colour in the top banner in my own opinion I think some skin options should be added but saying this- this isn’t too important it is how the software works.
The display is straight forward and very easy to understand as it only shows really what you need to see , source dvd , dvd burner , temp folder etc… very simple and not complicated at all.

On inserting a dvd and selecting the chosen source drive they grey skin now displays a white box within itself displaying the title sets (image 2) , audio subtitles and other information on the disc I have chosen to backup.

My second dvd drive which I will use for burning also display no media inserted on inserting a blank 4.7gb dvd it instantly displays the speed I have selected for the media that I have chosen to use.(image 3)

1:1 COPY

On hitting start then obviously the process starts I have decided to do a 1:1 copy(image 4) immediately a box is displayed in the bottom left hand corner that if selected shuts down the program on completion .

This is not true on the fly but not that disappointing as most software doesn’t have this feature either.
The dvd is backed up without a hitch even with my decrypter disabled .
On completion the option to make another copy and also to keep the files appears which of course you select your desired choice ..(image 5)The dvd played back flawlessly ….

OPTIONS

On viewing the options for the first time , again I am pleased with the simplicity of it all first off all I think every language is catered for as there is an awesome 143 to choose from and below this is the option for dts . the other options are easily selectable simply by just checking the desired box or circle.
Another good feature is you have the choice three burning engines in which two of them means having the other applications installed on your computer (nero / CopyToDVD)
There is also the option to let you decide on the screen ratio aspect I will look into this more later as well as splitting , ripping and the option to join movies.(image 6)

FULL DVD WITH COMPRESSION .

For this test I chose lord of the rings the two towers ….due to large amount of compression(image 7)

The transcoding time seemed fast compared to other software that I have used on this PC.

computer currently used:
Packard bell
Pentium 4
2.6ghz, 1.5gb ram
Windows xp

I have not run enditall prior to this so my Norton and spyware are still currently activated in the background.
The transcode time was less than an impressive 20mins. 19mins 58secs to be exact using a NEC 4551 I am impressed with the time this took
The burning time using the integrated burn engine using panasonic 16x media and a NEC 3520 was 8mins 14secs not impressive as others but not bad at all when you add the two times together a total 28mins 12secs.
The burn was flying up until the last 4mins then seemed to slow , I also noticed that the elapsed time continued far beyond the estimated time maybe a little tweaking is needed?
Another thing I noticed after I inserted the +R media during the burn process the text appeared special mode for dvd +R (image 5)which im not sure may be booktyping the media to dvd-rom, I am unsure about this as both of my drives are set to bookype.(but a great feature indeed if it is).

I noticed upon when I inserted the dvd into my standalone it didn’t automatically start to play and I had to hit play on the remote not that important but just something i picked up on (panasonic es10)

On viewing the dvd I flicked through to the most demanding scenes and some facial shots to see if I could pick up on any flaws or errors but to my surprise there is nothing really to report out of place as it does just as good as other transcoding software that I have used.

SPLITTING

For this test I inserted gladiator (region 2 as always) and selected to split the dvd over 2 –R 4.7gb dvds the transcode again was flawless and indeed quick after this process it copys the files which are to be burned on the first disc.(image 8)

the burn time took about 15mins using 8x speed media for the first half of the dvd that was 3.54gb in size after this is competed you are prompted to insert disc 2(image 9)

I tried playing it via windows media player as another dvd was being viewed on the standalone for some reason it would not play it displayed the chapters but failed to start so I switched to power dvd this also failed to start to display the newly backed up dvd for some reason ,, I went upstairs and inserted it on my other standalone dvd player this immediately recognized the dvd , again the dvd was flawless and the on screen display PLEASE INSERT DISC TWO was displayed on a black screen with the text appearing in white. Not a bad function and easy to use but for what reason I don’t fully understand why the need with the availability of DUAL LAYER media now widely available if you are quality concuss, and on the other hand the compression ratio is GOOD TOO.

OVERALL

Overall I think this program is defiantly worth a look the integrated burn engine and of course the integrated decrypter works a treat .
The program is easy to set up , after you have selected your source and burning device that is it. if you feel the need for a little extra just click the options which are so simple to follow and also to use you will be a dvd95 pro in no time.

For this price it is not to be sniffed at.

A excellent internal decrypter and a good burning engine but most of all it’s a one stop package deal , no need for any other programs to be installed , including a decrypter... hopefully with a new update everything will be sweet in regards to the minor playback problems

Why are Slysoft Products the number 1 users choice ? ....
AnyDVD works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie as soon as it's inserted into the drive, allowing you then to backup the movie using a DVD backup tool such as CloneDVD / CloneDVD mobile / 1ClickDVDCopy . You can also remove the RPC region code.

you know thats not a half bad idea but as many of you are probably aware.my good friend digi also has a day job he does a good and decent job on his software if you email him at support he always gets back to you.and its the author no one else.I had previosly challenged his honesty and by what means i wont go into but you can probably imagine beacause unless your a very large company i will test every part of your contract ie:money back guarantees ect. and i will tell you digi is a man of his words and leave it at that.hes never not once before we became good friends ever not gotten back to me with a reply and i dont mean a generic you know the ones you get when you purchase a product with a money back guarantee if you reqested a refund and a month later and finger tips numb from emailing the company and you just have to give up.digis policy is 30 day money back guarantee or your money back in full no curly shuffle !!nobody has anything to lose.no bs just send a request with a short note why and your money will be propmtly returned.he has alot of product that is very inexpensive that works as good as pro starting at twenty bucks i use it all the time works great that said I will ask him to come and introduce himself but I cant promise you anything his advertising is simple word of mouth hince i chose this forum on purpose because we have the best darn group of talent ever assembled from all over the world what better place could you possibly ask for reviews of your software? he doesnt have millions to promote his little known seceret about his software. i have been buying lower end programs to test against the big boys and i find his products very impressive for the money anyone can afford his program and he does give you free updates no charge no bs heck for the price of renewal you can buy express i would recommend doing that if you own AnyDVD and one click and are thinking about forking over another 19.00 i would stick with my 4..vesion and give express a try first.but thats just my opinion and for what its worth i take great pride in helping friends any of you need anything i m able to do you will know how to find me im always lurking in the shadows does any one want to come out and play with TINY? pleaseLOL
