Footnote: The above courtesy of Slysoft web site.

What to do?

Clicking on link should take you to this page. (You will also see links in some member’s signatures).

Click on download link for CloneDVD2 . (As in above).

Before looking at how to use CloneDVD2 . Let's see what registering is all about.

1st A key is sent as an attachment to an email. This email provides some basic info + confirmation of purchase etc.

Click on attachment to D/L. (As mentioned earlier, save to same folder as CloneDVD2 ).

Tip: Setup a registration folder on your email site. Save email + attachment. I did this & several years later it's still there intact. Still saved key to my Utils DVD rewritable.

You now need to copy & paste or drag & drop key into CloneDVD2 folder. (Found in Program Files / Elaborate Bytes). For visual ease using Total Commander.

Now double click on RegCloneDVD.exe.

This window should appear. Click on key in window (circled red) so it appears in filename slot (circled black) & click open (circled blue).

You should then get this pop up.

Click OK. If necessary close any programs. Now reboot PC.

OK. Let's look at actually using CloneDVD2 .
1st Copy Titles (in this example DVD movie only). Saving to hard drive as DVD files.

Click on DVD Titles button.

In next window click on browse, then select drive with DVD & click OK.

In the next window note the drop down window for disc size. Plus the colour bar showing quality (this refers to the written disc & varies on the amount of compression needed to fit blank disc). Just click next button.

In this window select titles you want. (Tip: Unless you have a DTS encoder, you can leave this out). Now check quality bar. Click next button.

In this window you can select Output Method. In this case DVD files. Enter a path for the files. Here it's D:\LOTR. D =the drive. LOTR = the folder. Then click next.

You should then get this window. Watch the progress or go & get a coffee.

As well as Log. You can click on Snapshot or Summary.

Continued:

Also click on sheep once for Video bitrates & again for Frame sizes. Click once more to return to sheep.

On completion you get this window. Click OK & close program. If you want check files. Job done.

To write to DVD from files. Click on Write Existing Data button.

Select on this occasion the upper left DVD movie files. Then select writer & click on go button. {N.B. You should also select write speed. I have set maximum merely to save time. If creating a backup for use (rather than a demo) then 8x or maybe 12x depending on writer - f/w - media. Currently DL is not able to go above 8x}

If no disc in drive or drive has gone on standby. You will get this window. Either insert disc if necessary or just leave for drive to pickup. (If disc is in drive, but still nothing happens. Eject then reload disc).

Burn should then commence. On completion you should see this. Click on Eject, once this is done you can close program.

DVD to DVD:

In this example movie only is the option chosen.
(Tip. If wishing to clone DVD to DL, consider using CloneCD. That's right CloneCD.)

Click on Copy DVD Titles. Then next button.

Browse, select DVD, click OK, and then next.( Note the preserve menu's box, if cloning whole DVD this box is checked by default).

Click next button.

Untick (by clicking on) any unwanted files. Click next button.

Select writer & speed. Then click on go button.

Let process run. On completion eject, then close program.

Remember you may see this screen briefly. If it stays then eject & reload. ( Unless you forgot to put blank media in drive. If you have multiple writers you may have inserted media in wrong drive or forgot to select correct one at earlier stage).

N.B. If you only have one drive. On completing compiling files into temp folder. Tray should eject. This screen should then be showing.

Simply remove DVD, insert a blank DVD & close tray. After a slight pause (while writer recognises blank media) program should continue to the end.

Hi
Experiencing problems, try posting your queries here at Ultimate.
You could also inform Slysoft.

1.) DISABLE AnyDVD (little fox on the taskbar should be grey).
2.) Navigate to the VIDEO_TS folder of the DVD.
3.) Copy all files ending with .IFO to your harddisk. ONLY those with .IFO, not the big .VOB files!
4.) ENABLE AnyDVD again (just in case, so you don't forget it)
5.) ZIP the .IFO files to one file. Name it with a cool filename (e.g., Little_Black_Book_UK.zip)
6.) Write a an email to support(at)slysoft.com (replace (at) with @). Name your problem, try to identify the disc (e.g, Little Black Book, R2, UK), the UPC number if possible (below the barcode on the package). The information output of AnyDVD can be helpful as well.
7.) They like if you include the AnyDVD version and your AnyDVD serial number in this mail. You find this information in the Settings Window -> About.
8.) Attach ZIP file with the IFOs and send it.

If you like, you can send this mail to bugs(at)elby.ch as well, so I can have a look at these .IFOs as well.
