For as long as most users have had writers. They’ve come to accept the relative f/w updates to better performance in media support of their writers. With SolidBurn, the theory is that you need not update the f/w constantly. The drive itself ensuring an optimal writing strategy on all DVD+/-R media. SolidBurn has it’s own self learning algorithm to allow unknown DVD+/-R media to be written with increased quality.

Status.
Contians Check button. Click this to check status. Disc symbol with diagonal red line shows Disabled/ Non-Activated. Disc with symbol shows Enabled/Activated. (circled black). Setting.
This allpws user to change setting from Disabled/Non-Activated to Enabled/Activated & vice versa. (circled red).
EEPROM Clean Tool.
Does just that erases Learned Memory* ( can be useful if a particularly bad disc has thrown SolidBurn “off track”). Enabling user to start afresh. Just click on Clean button. (circled yellow). *Some f/w updates will erase any Learned Memory.
Learned Disc.
Shows quantity of discs learned (currently limited to 6).)circled dark blue).
Media Information.
Shows MID (Media ID) of learned discs (again limit is 6). (circled light blue).
