Due to defined DVD+R/DVD+RW/DVD+DL spec, current DVD burning s/w does not support write simulation. With Test Write enabled the simulation of data burning can be performed. When simulation is a success, it increases the likelihood for actual burning to succeed.
Once again any setting to enabled is temporal.
