3rd Tab : - QScan:

Firstly let’s get it clear. This is a guide & not some scientific measuring tool to which you must adhere. Generally only use if unsure as to the media quality of the media you’re using. When this test is run. No account of the affect that SolidBurn & WOPC will make whilst media is being written to.
How : - By measuring TE/FE* signal on blank media, QScan is able to the disc quality. This is shown in the clear graphic display. It can also show the speed supported by the drive. This may exceed claimed speed (especially if OverSpeed is enabled).
*TE - Tracking Error. FE - Focus Error.

Setting:
Drive Speed. This will show the speed rating of the media as seen by the drive. This may be altered with 4x & 8x by enabling OverSpeed. Then 16x is shown regardless.(circled black)
Start position End position, simply shows the amount or area measured. (circled burgundy).
TE/FE Test Area:
Sampling Rate can be set via a drop down menu [Normal – default,Full, Quick, Smart & Custom]. Plus Start/Stop buttons. (circled blue)
Show Criteria. Tick boxes to show limits in graph area. Plus Elapsed Time, time taken to run test.(circled red).
Graph Area (circled purple)

8x rated media with OverSpeed disabled(default).

8x media with OverSpeed enabled.
