2nd Tab : - Book Type:

Upper section shows Drive Information.

Lefthand column shows media type (Note – media cannot be Book Typed, but that shouldn’t present a problem in most cases)[circled black].
Central column shows Drives current setting. [circled red].
Righthand column shows buttons that will change Drives setting (New setting displayed in relevant button).
N.B. Book Type Introduction. Most DVD drives can recognise DYD-ROM, as well as other formats (DVD+R/+RW/+R DL/-R/-RW/- DL). However some older players in particular can have problems recognising non DVD-ROM. Changing from DVD+R, DVD+DL, DVD+RW to DVD ROM helps to eliminate possibly incompatabilities on playback using a variety of stand alone players.

Lower section Media Status.

This section does what it says.

Check Media button. Click on this to get information from current disc inserted.
Lefthand section shows.
Current Media: i.e. DVD+R .
Current Book Type: i.e. DVD ROM.
Righthand section shows Modify section. Button is greyed out with – media. As Book Type is done when writing this section will not make any changes to write once only media. However you can change from DVD+RW to DVD ROM or even DVD ROM to DVD+RW.
Click on Set to DVD+RW Type or Set to DVD-ROM (Whichever is appropriate).

Window pops up asking if you want to change now. Click OK.

Window pops up once complete telling you action is complete. Click OK.

DVDRW tray will open then close & media read. This is followed by comfirmation of change.
